Goose meadows campground was a very convenient place to camp. It was close to many different sightseeing places at Lake Tahoe. The campsite was very clean when we arrived and we had plenty of space for 2 large tents. I give the campground 4.5 stars out of five. I didn’t like how close the campsites were together and the noise from the road was hard to ignore. But overall, I would stay here again.

This is a small Forest Service campground off of Highway 89. Running water and pit toilets (that were very clean). You can hear the traffic noise off of 89, as you are right beside it, but it is only 10 minutes from Donner Lake where we spent much of our days. It was a good place for a few days and the other campers were very quiet. It had a good feeling overall. I was in campsite 22.

Great campground! Our spot (#1) was very spacious and not too close to the neighbors. The road noise was loud, so it may be better to choose a site farther back. Close to a great bike path along the Truckee River and Lake Tahoe. Bathrooms were clean.

Campsite #12: A good sized campsite compared to some of the others. Had a good amount of tree coverage. There was a nice flat spot to set up a tent. Camp host was super kind and accommodating. We could see him working throughout the day, making sure that everything was in order. Campsites, vault toilets - all were clean and orderly. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We were right next to the Truckee River. However, the water was moving too quickly for us to really get to play and relax in - it was a good way to just rinse off after a long day. We were pre-warned, by comments, and were prepared for the cars, but it did take 1-2 nights for us to adjust to it. (To be fair, there were more cars before of the July 4th holiday.) Overall, it was really good experience. A good intro to camping because of all the accessibility to resources, should you forget anything. I would definitely come back!
