Campsite #12: A good sized campsite compared to some of the others. Had a good amount of tree coverage. There was a nice flat spot to set up a tent. Camp host was super kind and accommodating. We could see him working throughout the day, making sure that everything was in order. Campsites, vault toilets - all were clean and orderly. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We were right next to the Truckee River. However, the water was moving too quickly for us to really get to play and relax in - it was a good way to just rinse off after a long day. We were pre-warned, by comments, and were prepared for the cars, but it did take 1-2 nights for us to adjust to it. (To be fair, there were more cars before of the July 4th holiday.) Overall, it was really good experience. A good intro to camping because of all the accessibility to resources, should you forget anything. I would definitely come back!

Never really saw the host but there was someone walking around with a clipboard checking the site tags. Close to the freeway but not noisy at all. The river is also very close. Very clean site. The bathrooms were not lit so take a flashlight ant night and non flush toilet but there was always toilet paper. There is no sink but outside the bathroom is a communal watering station to wash your hands but no soap so I took soap sheets. My original plan was to camp at Meeks Bay campsite, but my reservation was canceled due to flooding and snow but Goose Meadows was only 15 minutes away from Tahoe City so there was a lot to do so I’d stay here again (:
