Wonderful campground, spacious, private, shady. In late June when I was there the water was broken, though they did have a back up container I would bring your own potable water. We filled up at the ranger ranger station.

We had a reservation for site 18, arriving on June 17th. We arrived at 2:30pm, and someone was in our site with all their gear - big camper, ATVs, paddle boards, all of it. When I showed the camp host that we had booked that site, she basically threw up her hands and said "well they have been there for two nights already, and aren't leaving for another two nights". She had no interest in doing anything even though I was showing her my confirmation email. She proceeded to say "their friends left just now for a doctor's appointment, and you can take their site (19) for the night". There was nothing else we could do as the campground was completely booked. As we were getting settled in the campers who were in our site came over asking about the situation, and to tell us that their son would be coming up the following night so we had to leave by then. It was as if they were all doing us a big favor - we had booked and paid for 18 a month prior.
We have camped here many times, and have never had a problem. Most likely this will be the last time, too.

I threw my husband a 50th birthday at this location last time we went. It was a good time. We walked down to the reservoir as a group and enjoyed the sights and stood in the water. This place is beautiful and the camp ground is always nice to stay in. There does need to be an upgrade done to some of the picnic tables. The one in the space we stayed is falling apart and someone put the bench seat on the stumps where the trailer sits. We will always come back though. So pretty and very peaceful.

We were there in September with our trailer. The campground was nice and clean. Only a few other people at that time. Great hiking and biking trails nearby. The Donner Interpretive loop is 1.5 miles from camp. The walk through the meadow was so beautiful with all the fall colors just starting to change. I’d definitely come back.

There was no water. Check ahead so you don't get bushwhacked. This was a one-nighter for us and we would not have stayed any longer unless we had brought our kayaks.
