Really nice campground. We stayed six days to explore Joshua Tree. Very quiet during the weekdays but busy on the weekend. Host was very nice. Bathrooms were clean. Other than the rate hike this year it was a nice experience.

Excellent host, very helpful! Clean restroom.
Close to a couple of excellent trails and a great 4-wheel road.
Good water at the fill station, sewer dump - it is setup for access coming into the campground and leaving the campground. the fresh water is at one end of the island and the dump is at the other end - it was a different setup that I have seen and it worked fine.

The campsite was wonderful. My biggest complaint was having to pay $10 after booking to change the date because the tool automatically updated the date to the previous day I wanted to book and I didn't realize it until after I had saved it. I think it's a bit ridiculous to have to pay that if you want to change the booking a mere minute after making it.

This is a well maintained, clean and quiet campground almost exclusively used by RVs. Most sites are not very private and, because of its close proximity to Interstate 10, many sites turn over on a daily basis. However, site A1 is good for tent camping, private, and has a very good view with spectacular sunsets. It's not the best campground for your base if you plan to spend several days exploring the park though, because it's nearly 40 miles just to reach the central part of the park. Also, it's in the lower Colorado desert where there are no Joshua trees.
