What a fantastic campground! It’s just unfortunate. There was so much wind, but I guess that’s the lay of the land. All the facilities were in order and the host was fantastic especially on the chilly night with the big screen projecting the game. Definitely a do over. The hiking in the area was fantastic as well.

The campground was fine, but the campground was much much busier and noisier than what we’ve experienced at Jumbo Rocks or Black Rock.

The informational signs on the trail that starts and ends at the campground were actually interesting! Visiting the rest of the park the next morning (thanks to already being at an entrance) was nice because we were ahead of the busy time and crowds.

Be sure to do an online reso Before you arrive. When you get there All the sites say “Reserved”, which they aren’t but it means you have to Reserve ahead of time. The problem is once you’re in the park there is very limited cell service so 1) you can’t see what is Available
2) you can’t reserve online.
So you are stuck wondering what to do ??
And we did not see any campground hosts And the Visitor Center has limited hours.
We loved the setting and gorgeous dark night sky. Do the Madsen Mtn hike from the campground ✅

We enjoyed the pull thru (not back in) site, clean bathroom, a short hike, lots of wild flowers.
