Wish we would have known ahead of time that you have to travel further north in park to find Joshua Trees. Still great camping with wonderful hiking & views.

Nice camp site, clean, plenty of room, not too close to the adjacent camp site. A bit of drive from some of the popular trails.

There is no cell reception (T-Mobile nor Verizon) at the campground but there are potable water spigots and flushing toilets at each loop. The sites are close together so hopefully you don't have a noisy neighbor. Like other comments, you may experience ppl who come to the campground to drink and party. There was one group that I could hear all night, They showed up late on a Saturday evening, grabbed an unoccupied site, drank and left the next morning.
There are hiking trails accessible directly from the campground. The Mastodon Peak and Mastodon Mine are relatively easy to get to. The Lost Palm Oasis takes a bit more effort especially on a hot sunny day. Be sure you know your abilities before you take that trek.
