What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Campground offers a stunning location for stargazing and has clean, well-maintained restroom facilities with running water. Be sure to do an online reso Before you arrive. When you get there All the sites say “Reserved”, which they aren’t but it means you have to Reserve ahead of time. The problem is once you’re in the park there is very limited cell service so 1) you can’t see what is Available
2) you can’t reserve online.
So you are stuck wondering what to do ??
And we did not see any campground hosts And the Visitor Center has limited hours.
We loved the setting and gorgeous dark night sky. Do the Madsen Mtn hike from the campground ✅

We enjoyed the pull thru (not back in) site, clean bathroom, a short hike, lots of wild flowers.

Quieter and less crowded part of Joshua Tree, beautiful landscapes and amazing star gazing opportunities! Spaces between sites are roomy and campers can access the trailhead to Mastodon Peak trail within the campgrounds.

A little bit more noise compared to my stay at Ryan Campground due to more campsites. It's also a little bit further from a lot of the hikes at the park compared to other campground locations

Nice campground, sites small and not very level. Bathrooms were clean. Great access to nice trails.
