Good change of pace at JT. It's a more secluded campground and based at the SE part of the park. So the entrance is off I-10 instead of having to climb to a higher elevation to enter at the main gate.

Someone stole my campsite and I could not camp. The site was clearly marked as reserved as all others were. They refused to move and there was no one to contact at the visitor center and there was no camp host. I decided not to call 911 and left to avoid a potentially violent confrontation in a remote are. You should not sell campsite reservations if you cannot enforce the rules.

Best view of the night sky I’ve ever seen.

Did motorcycle camping and there was plenty of space and it's pretty quiet spot.
I wish the table was closer to the fire pit. But overall very good spot, not far to drinking water, trash and bathrooms.

Very great location, extremely large lots not attached to the others, 50 Amps, water, dump station, in a fantastic landscape all around us. Very good price. We will be back

Overall, we had a good stay. We stayed in our vehicle, which we modified to sleep two people, so having a flat spot to park is essential, and fortunately, Cottonwood had the setup. The only downside to the camp was, unfortunately, the Park staff constantly making rounds through the campsite, nitpicking how cars were positioned by inches, leaving notes at campsites, etc. This was a very empty time as well. When you're camping in a place like Joshua Tree and Cottonwood, most people are looking for peace and quiet. The campers understood that, but apparently, the over-eager staff felt like they needed something to do. Overall, a great place to stay, but the park staff need to tone it down.
