Great scenic camp. We stayed for a night at site #21. It would be nice to book #21 and #22 or #20, or all 3 sites . The site #21 has an access through site #22, which may cause inconvenience for people of that site every time you trespassing. Otherwise, great site. All these sites are not big. We enjoyed our stay.

We've always lived the park and the camping! It's just too bad that it's so crowded; is there no way to limit the number of visitors?
We would be happy to need a reservation to enter if it meant less people in the park!

Camp site was clean, bathrooms were clean, overall great experience. Not having water is challenging, we have a 5 gallon bottle that we went through but that is not easy to change.

It was beautiful, the bathrooms were clean and miraculously not smelly at all, and there was always toilet paper β amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The campsite is beautiful, the toilets amd campsites were very clean with plenty of trash receptacles.
The night we camped the wind was extreme. We were in site 52 and were in direct path of the wind gusts. It may have been helpful if a ranger came around to exposed camps to make sure gear was secured and people were aware of the level of wind expected. Our tent didnβt survive the wind gusts and we slept in the car - not the end of the world and not entirely preventable, but a fair warning would have been appreciated. I love Joshua Tree and will keep returning for years to come. Thank you for keeping this space safe, clean and respected.

Jumbo Rocks is a great campground with two really nice trails leading from it. The Skull Rock loop is an easy trail with nice views. We booked spot 120, which was perfect for our SUV + Trailer. The campsite detail says 1 vehicle only, no trailers because the spot is only 25ft. But since we're only 23ft we fit perfectly in the space and had no problem. Don't miss the amphitheater, where a park rangers give presentations about Joshua Tree and the national parks service, which was a nice treat. Overall you can't beat this campground. It's away from the crowds of other campgrounds, except for the traffic and visitors around Skull Rock during the day. But evening walks on the loop have very few people.

The campground is in a great central
Location, surrounded by jumbo rocks which makes it a unique and beautiful landscape. They had nightly ranger talks which were very informative. I would camp here again.

This is a beautiful campground. Enjoyed climbing on the big rocks and the skull rock nature trail accessible from the campground. There were a lot of bees in the two pit toilets closest to our site which was a concern as I am allergic to bee stings. They dissipated by night time and during the day I was able to walk to a further toilet that was bee-free. It is always upsetting to see so many empty campsites that had been reserved but no one shows up for days. Site 113 next to us was one of the most beautiful sites and no one showed for the 2 days we were there even though a reservation was posted on the board. This was true for multiple sites throughout the campground.

Campsite #059 was excellent. A quick walk to the restroom at the end of the little driveway. Easy to back into the parking lot space. Bring a canopy for shade. Right by two jumbo rocks and sunsets are perfect from here. Easy to access some of the trailheads from this campsite.

General
- Download the NPS app prior to visiting the park β trail maps and more!
- Reservations are required year round and can be made the same day or up to 6 months in advance.
- A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out (noon) time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (noon) on the day following the arrival date.
- The park allows six people, two vehicles and three tents per site, however, some sites are small and may not accommodate the maximum number of people and vehicles. See Site Details for specifics. There is no overflow parking. Trailers count as a vehicle.
- Please call 760-367-5554 for information.
- $30 per vehicle entrance fee is in addition to camping fee.
- There are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites; nor is a dump station located nearby. Potable water is available at the Oasis Visitor Center, 11 miles away.
- Generator use is permitted only from 7β9 am, noonβ2 pm, and 5β7 pm.
- Pets are not allowed on trails but are welcome in the campground, on any dirt road or within 100 feet of any road. Pets must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long at all times. Pets may not be left unattended or tied to an object; leaving pets in unattended vehicles is strongly discouraged β especially on warm days.
- Donβt Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near the park and burning it on-site, and do not use park vegetation, living or dead, for fuel.
- All organized events require a special use permit and must be held in designated areas; contact the Special Park Use Coordinator, jeannie_wilson@nps.gov.
- Cancelling a Reservation: Customers may cancel their reservation prior to arrival both on-line and through the call center. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. Depending on when you cancel in relation to your arrival day, it may be considered a late cancellation. Late Cancellation Fees: A customer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. For more information visit the National Invasive Species Information Center.
- FIRE BAN fire restriction are currently in effect that prohibit charcoal fires, wood-burning fires, and charcoal grills. NO Fires! Only gas or propane stoves are permitted. Starting June 15, ending October 1st of every year.
