Sometimes it is wonderful to camp at Acorn Campground. More often there are too many rude, inconsiderate people either playing loud music all night, loudly talking until midnight, or more often: driving in and out at all hours of the night. I know this is random and unpredictable, but last time someone drove up to the bathroom at 1 or 2 am, and left their car running for 20 or more minutes, perhaps 15 feet away from where I was trying to sleep. Another time someone kept leaving their campground every one or two hours ALL NIGHT-- again with their car idling. I really enjoy camping at Acorn and we usually go once a week all season- but too often, especially in Fall, it is crazy all night and extremely disruptive. Is this maybe a place where homeless come in at night to use the facilities? Or are people just inconceivably rude nowadays.

I love camping here. It’s not a far drive when I want to escape from the city.

From Sunday night to Thursday night it was quiet. But Friday and Saturday nights are nothing but a party all night long, with no authority around. Worst campground I've been to, with a year into my travels. It made walmart look good!

Beautiful lake. Limited amount of shade. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper and a good flashlight because the bathroom lights were minimal.

Nice back-in site off the beaten path away from jet skiers, etc. Full morning sun with decent shade later on. Site 99 next door seems very nice too, both with close access to the shoreline for wading or fishing. Leave the boating, etc.for the west side loop area.

It was awesome. The only problem was that there was no toilet seat in the men’s bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at Acorn Campground. Only small complaints I have is the bathroom nearest our site #92, the toilet paper was never filled and one of the urinals was backed up and out of service and stank the bathroom up badly. Erosion off the edges of most of the sites pavement needs attention, very steep and high drop offs, ankle twisters. We understand the campground has some age to it, but we thank you for the low cost to camp here and the senior discount available with the senior pass.
The campground was very clean and quiet, wildlife everywhere, deer, quail, vultures, toads, egrets etc.
We will be back!

Everyone's nice and friendly. Only issue the gate needs to open before 8 am.

Great shaded spot, close to the water. Lots of open area for flying my kite. Fun neighbors. Will be back! ~Darla
