What Guests Are Saying
Acorn Campground offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful scenery, ample wildlife, and spacious sites ideal for family gatherings. Many reviewers appreciated the cleanliness of the grounds and active ranger presence, though some noted that the bathrooms require more frequent maintenance. While there are complaints about noise and certain site conditions, overall, campers enjoyed their experiences and expressed a desire to return.

Overall campground was nice. Rangers were very friendly, and the camp was clean.
Site 14: it’s basically on top of the site next to it. Would make a great site to pair with another group, but as a solo camper I felt like I was intruding on the people next to me.

Beverly careful on booking. Trailers 27 or more have challenges at being level, slideout, steps. But still a great place

From the previous reviews, I drove here before I reserved. It was clean, quiet and I saw the park ranger pass by regularly. The bathrooms are ok, just bring your own soap. I didn't shower here, but the facilities worked and were in acceptable condition. It's a campground bathroom, not a hotel. Over all, had a great peaceful time. Didn't notice any homeless people, there was a large RV across the way, a couple of vans and tents, but spaced out well so that was nice. There's almost no t-mobile signal here, but with my signal booster I was fine.

Campground and sites were all good. Seems the bathroom janitor had not been to work for a while...

Very peaceful setting although there were few campers this time of year. Nice to have a dump station available.

Everything was great, after I got the homeless people who poached our campsite and delayed me 30 mins while they broke camp. How does this happen in a booked campsite? Is their nothing that can be done about this?

The lake at New Hogan is fuller than we've seen it in many years, a real plus. The campground docent(s) were no-where to be found. Sites that were reserved were not tagged. Campers, unaware that the spaces were reserved, set up their campsites, only to be told (politely) that the space was taken. A real mess.
The campground itself was fine, but who wants to show up late in the day to find your reserved space already occupied, because the docent was lazy???
