The campsite was clean and had a great view. The bathrooms were a bit of a walk bit there's a water thingy. It has shade around 5 pm but before that the sun is directly on the campsite. The water is kind of low so you have to walk down. There wasn't much soft flat ground. There was alot of gravel.

This campsite could have a lot of potential, but unfortunately the lake is slowly drying up and the campsites are a bit of a hike to where the lakeshore is now. The temp goes up to 100+ degrees during the day in July and hiking 2-3 miles to the lake without shade is gruesome. In addition, majority of the campsites are sloping down. It was a little difficult to find a flat area to set up our tents. Did I mention that there was barely any shade/trees? So be prepared to bring a canopy for your picnic areas. Also, there were a lot of rude and dirty campers leaving trash everywhere, making loud disturbing noises and playing loud music past 10 pm. There were rangers patrolling the campsite during the day only and the restrooms are only cleaned once a week. When we arrive on Thursday, the bathrooms are filthy, but hosts came on Friday morning to steam clean the toilets, but imagine it not being cleaned for 7 days!? Lastly, the showers don't really work. It was merely a drip coming out of the shower head, you are better off bringing a portable shower or a bucket and use that! Only pro about this campsite is it is only 7 mins away from a grocery store. It was so easy to purchase things we need (like ice) during our stay.

A lot of the campsites at Acorn are sloping down (not flat ground) esp. the campsite near the lake shore. It was really difficult to find a spot to set-up our tent. Also it was pretty dirty, there was trash everywhere! It was also pretty hot (90s - 100+ degrees) this time around and there weren’t a lot of trees (esp. on our campground) so there’s no shade. Be prepared to bring a canopy to cover your picnic area.
The restrooms were filthy when we arrived on Thursday but Rangers came and cleaned the restrooms on Friday. The shower didn’t really work very well, it was practically just dripping out of the spout.
Lastly, the lake was also pretty dry, the hike from our campsite to the lake shore, with the heat and distance, was gruesome! We ended up driving near the boat launch to go swim at the lake.
This campground would’ve had a lot of potential if there are shade and clean.

We were very disappointed at the restroom facilities in the area we camped at Acorn. The women's bathroom was locked and mens bathroom had been vandalized and had not been operational for use. Of course the water level was low but we had expected this.
We could not hook up the water hose for our RV since the spigot had a different hookup..

We arrived at our campsite and had booked a 40 foot back in site. We had reviewed it on campsite photos and it looked perfect. On arrival the people next to us and opposite us had the roadway blocked - with the barriers on the roadway we were unable to get the front end swing to get the angle to back our trailer in. My husband is a truck driver and never has issues with backing in our trailer. There was no way we were getting into the site. We told the ranger and she suggested we called recreation.gov for a new site - it was 8pm and getting dark so we needed to get our trailer parked. We were unable to speak to a live person on the phone and kept getting routed through the phone tree. After about 20 minutes we decided to just turn a round and go home - which is what we did :(

I had 2 pay for a different site because the first one I booked was right behind the bathroom. The office was closed and there was no camp attendant.
