camping during weeknights, site 001, no horses---had a really lovely time. Quiet, pretty, sounds of wildlife and wind.
Because this camp is only 2 sites and far off the main road, this location doesn't get much traffic (maybe 3 groups drove/walked by in 3 days). There is a trailhead next to camp 002. Very quiet here. There were no campers at the other site, but if there were, they would have been quite far from us.
While there are trees and some shade, site does get hot and sunny during the day (in November!). We were only there at night and in earlier mornings as a result. Gets really hot by 10:30.
And yes, plenty of buzzing critters were coming in to check out our food as we ate. But, we were careful to keep everything covered up except the food being put in our mouth, and so the insects had nothing to eat and went away quickly.
I definitely wouldn't leave a glass of juice sitting out unguarded for more than 30 seconds here--you'll have a wasp drowning in it.
