Showed up for our double campsite and someone else was there. We were offered a single and had no choice but to take it. No refund so far on the extra cost of the double site.

Really convenient to Yosemite Valley. Campsites have been recently graded and renovated. Restrooms / disposal sinks are well situated.

If you arrive very late to check-in, they'll leave your name and campsite on a whiteboard at the campground gate: Just stop there, sign in at the clipboard, and go on to find your site. (They ask that you check back with someone the following day during operating hours if you're staying multiple nights.)

Recommend getting up and out early, so that you can give yourself enough time to get down to where you want to be in the Valley and find parking. Degnan's Kitchen opens at 7a for coffee and breakfast. It's a short walk from the Village Store, which opens at 8a for groceries and merch. The store is housed in the same building as the Welcome Center, which opens at 9a. There are helpful display boards that give you a sense of the different options for seeing the Valley, depending on how much time you have and the level of difficulty you're prepared for.

Shuttles travel counterclockwise and make all stops in numerical order. Stops near the Welcome Center are #1 and #2, and you may find it desirable to make the short walk across the loop and pick up the shuttle at #12 if you're heading for Vernal Falls or other sites in that direction. Although shuttle frequency is estimated at ~10 mins, there are two lines and they seem to arrive more frequently than that.

Bad site. Was told I had enough room for a 24’ trailer. I have a 5’x10’ trailer. I couldn’t open my roof top tent. I had no camping space. The site was, essentially, a joke

Crane Flat has been upgraded with better roads and driveways but the sites are still quite close to each other. Some sites are configured such that a trailer will not work. Recent removal of trees and undergrowth leaves open sight lines to other campers, many of whom seem to stay only for one night. The restrooms remain old and tired with no observed improvements.
Camp hosts and NPS employees are very helpful. We checked out after one day of a five day reservation and moved to Bridal Veil Creek campground.
