What Guests Are Saying
Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a clean, well-maintained facility with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Yosemite. Many campers appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and the cleanliness of the restrooms. However, some sites are sloped and close together, which might impact comfort and privacy for certain visitors. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot for campers looking to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite.

The sites are too crowded, too noisy, and many are too step for easy access and sleeping. The ground is without plant life and likely to flood and become a mud bath in the rain,

Sites vary a lot. We liked the 70s area that we chose pretty randomly. We were on a slight slope but nothing dramatic, some sites look very uneven. We were able to park right by our site. Check-in was a sign in sheet and we saw the site manager on the third day. Love being able to be inside the park and drive down to the valley within 45 minutes time. Also closer to hetch hetchy and the gas station in the park. No showers so plan for that. but there is potable water. 3 bathroom locations, two in the center and one down by the group sites. No firewood for purchase. We enjoyed our stay and would choose this camp again.

Nice campsite. Picked a site that is more level than most and it was still slightly slanted where we slept. Everything was fine, would camp again.

Overall a decent campgrounds. Sites are a little cramped for my taste and I see no reason why they wouldn't add a shower stall in the restrooms at any of the campsites. They could charge $1/minute for water and pay back the cost in a year.

Campground with friendly staff, clean restrooms and large enough spaces for tents and cars.

Site was clean, bathrooms were clean, first campsite inside the park was nice. We were traveling with a 4 and 5 year old and wanted to get most of the driving done thursday night and this fit perfect. Got up and made the 45 min remaining drive to tuolumne meadows for our kids 1st backpacking trip to glen aulin. Would utilize this spot again. Was quiet as well. Downside, no real views here but the site definitely serves a purpose.

As far as car style tent camping goes it was pretty standard. We love camping and nature so the whole thing was wonderful for my wife and I. Bring your own soap to the bathroom and you are golden.

The location is close to the park entrance, which can be convenient. The campsite is quiet, although our spot was a bit steep and the bathrooms were far away.

I personally had a great experience staying at the campsite. The bathrooms were clean, there was easy water access, the campsite was large enough for my friend and I, and the location of the campsite was decent. It was nice that it was right by the entrance to the park so that my friend and I could set up camp as soon as we got into the park, but that did mean that it was a 45 minute trip to get to and then come back from the visitor center and hiking spot. The drive though is extremely scenic and I'm happy that I got to experience it, but after a long hike that we finished at 8:30 PM and buying souvenirs from the country store, we had to drive back through the park in the dark and got back to our campsite around 10 PM which wasn't too much of an issue for me personally, but I know some people would have issues driving mountain roads at night in the dark so just plan ahead.
