Overall, a great experience! Close to the Mist trail and Curry Village for hiking and shopping needs, respectively. Main note is that our view of Half Dome was blocked by trees, which was not an issue for the sites directly next to us.

The campsite was actually terrible because they were weeds all over the ground. Too many trees have been cut down in the campsites but new trees are not being replanted. The picnic table was extremely close to the neighbors’ campsite which made the situation uncomfortable. Someone had trashed and TP’d the bathroom so it was a mess. The worst part is the smoke in the Valley from campfires with burning wood and smoking wet wood which is hazardous to people’s health especially those with health concerns. Camp hosts do not monitor smoking campfires whatsoever.

It was a great camping trip! It was our first time staying at Lower Pines and it was a perfect location. Very spacious camp site and it's located a short ride to the grocery store. We picked up some awesome souvenirs there as well. Only downside was that the showers were only available to visitors with reservations at Curry Village. We visited in Sept. The weather was good to us, but nights got pretty chilly.

Nice campground with clean restrooms and close to trailhead.
2 issues.
1 - mostly empty but sign says full. Reservation policy needs fixing - booked solid 6 months out and then no shows galore
2 - noisy generators. Why are these noise and air polluters allowed in a national park? Microwaves and TVs are just not that important

Lower Pines was scenic with plenty of trees. River close by, restrooms, dump station just across the street. No shuttle pick ups due to covid. The village was a 2 mile scenic walk.
