About Lower Pines Campground

Lower Pines is closed for the winter season.Lower Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from the campground open date to June 14. Reservation tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. PST release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.Lower Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and much more. Overall a great experience. Saw a lot of sites, also had a wilderness pass for 3 nights in Yosemite Valley and hiked Half Dome. Only bad point which is uncontrollable was the smoke.

We stayed there for 1 night in the first week of October 2021. Campground was very mellow and quiet. Staff was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. I would give 5 stars if it had showers.

The campgrounds are great. Nice camp hosts. Regretfully, the shuttles inside the park are not running at this time. So, bicycles are a must have. Rental bikes are available in the park. I had my E bike. And it was great!
