Beautiful campsite. Views of the rock walls, a stream nearby, a nice picnic table and fire pit, and good bear boxes. It's also close to trails! The only thing to watch out for is if you arrive late, you'll likely have squatters on your site. There were 2 groups with 4 cars. We had to wake people up to have them move their cars so we could park. We let them stay parked for the night, expecting them to leave promptly in the morning. Instead, they took their sweet time taking over the entire picnic table for breakfast time before leaving. We were nice about it all, but asked how long they'd take and made it clear that we wanted to use the table and were waiting on them. They were just plain rude, made no effort to leave promptly, and left the table dirty. So arrive as soon as check in, or put up with potential squatters, or have them kicked out by the rangers. Hopefully everyone can be decent and courteous about it.

Lower river campground bathrooms are very old, in poor condition and were not properly maintained, the roads in the campground are in very poor condition, our campsite (including table and parking area) were in very poor condition, we could not back our trailer into the site because there was a dumpster on the road directly in line with the site. We left and went home (we live 2 1/2 hours from Yosemite Valley). I called the next day to cancel the remaining two nights on our reservation but never received a refund. All in all a very bad experience.

Our stay at lower pines was very beautiful and very nice. I can absolutely recommend the campingground. Everything was clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful. With all my questions i went to them and they helped me. The position of this campingground is very ideal. From this spot you can start every tour you want. Each camping parcel has food lockers and a place to make a fire or to have a barbecue. I only have one thing to criticize. In my opinion the price is to high. We paid for two nights more than 100 bucks. I think it´s to much. But i think this will never change. But all in all i am satisfied.

Awesome stay for 2 nights in late August 2019. We hiked Vernal Falls via Mist Trail, enjoyed the view on Nevada Falls and Half Dome while taking the loop back via Clark Point to return via John Muir Trail. We also hiked Mirror lake which had not much water around that time of the year. Initially we also had planned to take the shuttle up to Glacier Point and then hike down to the valley via Four Mile Trail. Unfortunately this shuttle was already sold out - you had to book well in advance.
At the Lower Pines Camp Ground we stayed on site 25 which is close to the amphitheater and also short to the bathroom. They were clean, but more sinks wouldn't hurt. The site is in a curve and makes it easy to back in with a 27" RV - you just pass it an then can back in straight without much maneuvering.
Generally rangers, visitor center's and shop's staff and shuttle drivers were very kind and friendly. We'd love to come back one day!!

Everything was good the only thing I would change was the parking. Our lot was hard to park in with a big pickup and two cars would not fit. That was the only problem.

We have been to Yosemite many, many times and it is always more beautiful than the last time. The park is always clean and park employees are wonderfully helpful.
