About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. This campground is located right at the heart of so many hikes and points of interest. They made it all very easy. Plenty of bathroom facilities all located close to the campsites. The rangers were all so friendly and helpful!

What an amazing experience down in Yosemite Valley! The campground sites are so spacious that we didn't feel on top of anyone else despite the large number of visitors. The bathrooms had running water and were regularly cleaned (although there was no soap or hand sanitizer provided in the one closest to us, so bring your own just in case.) And huge trees providing perfect hammock spots! If you're staying in a tent, I highly recommend earplugs + maybe an eyemask since we did have one neighbor leave early in the morning and the truck motor noise and headlights woke us up.
