Beautiful campground, close to one of the forks of the Merced River. Great to stay here if your goal is to explore the Yosemite backcountry via the Wawona area. Some campsites can be hit and miss: we had campsite #96 but unfortunately it did not have adequate shade due to trees that had been cut down at one point in time.

The campground is in an excellent location along the river. The facilities could use some renovations though.

The parking area is small and shared, be sure to check your vehicle length and hope for the best. Campsites are rather tight together. Beautiful down by the river!

Much less crowded than the valley this time of the year. Short drive to Mariposa Grove, short bike to the Wawona Hotel.
Campground is along the South Fork of the Merced River, very relaxing ambience...

The best campground in Yosemite. Quiet & clean. Ranger staff is the best. We like to do small easy hikes & there are two in particular. The suspension bridge & the nature walk around the golf course. Also see deer on this one. Extremely nice this year because very few motorhomes with generators going all day. To me these ruin the environment, esp when they don't abide by rules for hours to run.

Beautiful surroundings by the river, unfortunately couldn’t use the BBQ as there was a big hole in the bottom of it, campsite staff were very helpful with our queries
