Site 059 at Wawona Campground has a small rainbow shaped parking area in front of a huge site. Too shallow to back in my 17’ trailer; the description says the site is limited to 18’ trailers. They have plenty of room to move a few rocks to make a conventional parking area where you can back in your trailer, just like site 057 next door. Because of the one-way road, we had to park “backwards” with the door facing the road, just a few feet from other campers going by.. Being Yosemite, it was beautiful, quiet, with excellent, newly renovated bathroom, with many extra outhouses, so there was no waiting. If you plan to explore Glacier Point, you are about an hour closer than staying in the Valley campgrounds. I rated it three stars hoping to get someone’s attention so they might spend an hour moving rocks and greatly improve this site.

The Wawona Yosemite Campsite surpassed expectations. Situated by the Merced River, it offered remarkable access to its beauty. Stepping out of the tent onto the riverbank was a luxury, with the flowing water's sound enhancing the serene atmosphere. Lounging by the river or taking a refreshing dip was easy, given the proximity. What's more, the campsite's south side gate entry of Yosemite Park and its midway position for accessing Glacier Point Road were a perfect combo for exploration. For nature enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable getaway with both convenience and natural marvels, this campsite truly stands out.

This place is old & rundown. The bathrooms, care of the sites, and access to potable water are not great. It’s a pity because it’s a neat location next to a beautiful creek.

Great location, had the chance to swim in the river. LTE signal for spectrum mobile (not sure with other service). 45-60mins to Yosemite Village.

Great campground! A really good place to spend a night or 2 coming from the west side of the park! Quiet and peaceful! Close to gas stations and the Wawona hotel and glacier point road. Really clean and well maintained

Site 14 is very close to the main road so you hear the cars driving by the whole night. It is also right next to the ranger booth entering the campground, so you get all the traffic around that. And at night, the ranger booth lights are very bright and pointed towards the campsite. I wish maybe you could change those to motion sensor possibly. There's no shade during the day at this campsite, or enough trees to hang a hammock. Other than that, the facilities at the campground were always clean. Just this particular campsite was not the best if you are trying to hang out there.

What a srunning campround located in Yosemite next to a, rather cold, creek. Convenient flush toilets. It does ger rather cold at night and hot during the day (August). Creek entrance is suitable for some swimming. Wanona hotel/Big Trees short drive away to have lunch/diner or if fully booked, for a takeaway meal on their porch or at your campsite. Just 10 minutes ride away from Mariposa Grand parking where you can catcher the buss to trailer to visit the sequoia Trees.
Site 72 was situatie next to the Rivera, great views.
