We were in Loop A site 27 and had a great time.
Some notes on the campsite itself. It is basically right next to the bathroom which is convenient but at times feels lacking in privacy as people are always around. We were also able to fit 2 regular sized cars into the parking space with a bit of finessing but definitely a tight squeeze. Lastly the main area (firepit / table) is in a very sunny clearing. We brought a sun shade so wasn't bad and would recommend doing the same.
Other Yosemite tip, we went during peak season and got to Yosemite valley around 8AM. We couldn't find parking for an hour. So if you are coming during peak season aim to get to the valley asap so you can find legal parking.

River camps are amazing; hillside camps can be exposed and hot.

Because the rivers were flowing so fast and high we were unable to swim and there were posted warnings against swimming were all over the park. The campsites are well-maintained and toilets were clean and stocked with toilet paper. This was impressive because it was the 4th of July weekend which had one of the highest visitor numbers in Yosemite history. Wawona has the advantage of being away from the crowds in the Valley, and is quieter. It also has the advantage of being closer to the entrance to Glacier Point Road and the high country hikes to Sentinel Dome, Taft and Dewey Points, and the amazing overlook of Half Dome at sunrise, which had opened for the first time that season the morning of our reservation.

We were in campsite 97 in loop C. Although you can see/hear your neighbors, they are not right on top of you. The site backs up to a hill with logs, trees, and rocks, so it creates some feeling of privacy. A lovely sequoia and an indian bowl rock are in the campsite. Bathrooms are a one minute walk away, so just perfect. Even though you are not beside the river, you could still hear the water at night.

Nice, relatively small campground next to a river. Clean bathrooms.

75 C is the best site for our family. It’s right by the river and there’s enough room to set up a large tent. The parking area is big so 77 C was able to park there too because they needed more space. Campground feels safe and check in/out is relatively easy. Restrooms are clean and the bear box is big enough to fit our Yeti 65 hard cooler and more. I absolutely love this site and will book again even though it is further from Yosemite Valley.

Bathrooms were clean. Checked in late and early out. No place to wash dishes. Campsite was at a 9° angle.

I really liked site 37, right next to the river, beautiful sounds of the water. I was in a van and as stated, the parking area was not perfectly flat but it was not bad. The tent area also did not look flat, perhaps a bit of erosion from the wet winter made a groove in the tent area, maybe if you move the picnic table it looked flat under there. I met a ranger who was preparing for an evening campfire story and he gave me great directions for mountain bike rides in the area. The campsite is close to the historic hotel where you can visit and get drinks, and explore meadows of lupines with great meadow walks or bike rides. I arrived a 7pm on a Saturday so I did not have any wait in line at the gate. But I heard some people waited 2 hours to enter at mid day, and its still an hour drive into the valley from this campsite. The following day there was lots of traffic in the valley, so go to the valley floor very early on weekends and plan to bike around the valley and lock your bike to hike to waterfalls. This campground is close to the mariposa grove of giant sequoias, 10 minutes drive to the parking area, and that is a must see, fantastic big trees accessed from a short shuttle ride running 8am-8pm (or 45 minute hike), then a 1.5 mile round trip hike.

Large site with gravel pad for RV. Large enough to fit our 25’ Motorhome and Jeep with room to spare. It is on a slope and we were unable to be fully level, even using all our stacking blocks but it was still a very nice camp spot.
