What Guests Are Saying
Lakeview Campground offers a peaceful and beautiful setting with helpful and friendly hosts, clean facilities, and great access to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites and scenic views, making it a favorite camping spot. However, some concerns were raised about road conditions and noise from generators, which detracted from the overall experience for a few guests.

The location was beautiful. Unfortunately, the pit toilet was so close to being full, I’ve never seen a bit toilet so far and addition it did not seem like the bathrooms were clean very often. Also, the trash bin was overflowing, and it was just the start of a holiday week

Just wow! If I could stay at this campground all summer, then I would be in heaven! Hosts were incredibly attentive & helpful. Lupine was everywhere. My site felt safe & private. The view of the reservoir & mountains from the campground (not my site specifically & that’s ok) was spectacular. Discovered Summerville Trailhead about halfway between Almont & this campground; it was one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever had in Colorado; only hikers, dogs, & horses allowed. Afterwards, I drove back down to Almont to grab a few supplies I had forgotten (& had a brownie sundae at the resort restaurant). Back to the campground, the bathroom was clean & well-stocked, and water access is in the same vicinity. There is hiking available at the campground & around the reservoir in the form of what appears to be service roads, which are not as appealing to me because of the lack of shade & allowance of motorized vehicles; to each their own, right? I started this adventure from Gunnison & then left over the snow-covered mountains towards Buena Vista, which are two entirely different driving experiences, btw. Thanks again to the hosts for ensuring this was a wonderful camping experience for me & my family!

Very good campground. Site photos would be helpful when booking a campsite.

The camp hosts were friendly and driving around the grounds quit frequently taking care of newly arrived campers or campers checking out.
