very nice campground. Well spaced private sites, clean restrooms, paved road (no dust). One minor negative - no hiking trail right from the campground. Nearest trailhead was 1.3 mi away, a short drive. Also, pleasant but not spectacular scenery from the trail (it is not Rocky Mt. NP!).

One of our favorite campgrounds in the Conejos area. The camp hosts were wonderful and they kept the campground tidy! The vault toilets were the cleanest of anywhere we've visited. Sites at Elk Creek are spacious and there's no bad site.

  • Reservations are held until the day after your scheduled arrival; failure to occupy results in cancellation with no refund.
  • First-come, first-served campsites are available but not guaranteed.

Utilities

  • Trailers must be filled before arrival; filling at hydrants is prohibited to prevent water contamination.

  • Off-road vehicles are not allowed in the campground.
  • Livestock and horses are prohibited in the campground.

  • Single site reservations accommodate 6 people and 1 vehicle; up to 8 people and 2 vehicles allowed with additional fees.
  • Double site reservations accommodate 12 people and 2 vehicles; up to 16 people allowed with additional fees.

  • Reservations cannot be modified by the camp host; changes must be made online before check-in, with a 7-day refund request window after check-out.
