What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is praised for its clean, spacious campsites and well-maintained bathrooms, with a welcoming and attentive camp host, Sam. The beautiful river and serene forest setting enhance the camping experience, making it a favorite for many visitors. However, numerous reviews note a significant mosquito problem and mention that entrance road conditions could be improved, alongside the need for some facilities to be updated.

This is the BEST campsite we have ever visited! Sam is so nice and keeps everything so clean and orderly. The river was amazing, the quiet campground was the cherry on top!

We were immediately informed of a mountain lion in and around the campground. Thanks for that. The man in the cart was very courteous. Rest rooms were clean.

Campground spaces and bathrooms were very clean. Spaces were spacious. Lower loop has great access to the river. Campground host, Sam, is kind and welcoming and extremely attentive to guest needs and questions. We will keep coming here every year. My only gripe is the road conditions at the entrance are unsatisfactory and the dirt loop roads need grading. Other than that, Mogote is a beautiful setting and one of our favorites.

Sam was great! The bathrooms were remarkably clean-have never seen a campground bathroom look like that! This campground was spacious and much less
Of an RV park compared to our last campsite. Will def be back.

We enjoyed our stay very much Our site was right down by the river with ample space between us and the other campers. The space for our camper was a little cramped, as it was designed as just sort of a pull-off alongside the road, but with a little jockeying, it worked just fine for our 26' trailer. There were a few mosquitos, but not bad.
There was a vault toilet nearby that was kept clean and well-stocked - even had hand gel since there was not a sink or running water. Sam, the camp host, was perhaps the most hard working camp host I've ever encountered. He was also very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful forest with large, clean campsites. Very well-maintained outhouses. Camp host, "Dan the Man" went above and beyond to accomodate our request to move to a different campsite, twice! River is absolutely gorgeous. Birds and chipmunk watcher's paradise.

The space was absolutely beautiful. I wish we could have enjoyed it more but the mosquitos were horrendous when we were there. We were using 5 different types of repellant and still were eaten alive. We left as soon as possible in the morning to get away from them. It was too bad because the stars were beautiful and the site was really nice. Maybe it could be nice with a screened in space to hang out?
