What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is highly praised for its clean and spacious campsites, friendly and attentive camp host Sam, and its beautiful natural setting near a river. Many campers enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and well-maintained facilities, including impressively clean bathrooms. However, some reviews noted issues with mosquitoes, particularly in areas near standing water, and suggested that the road conditions and overall infrastructure could use improvement.

Beautiful quiet campsite despite being close to the road. Minimal traffic during the day and at night. Incredibly clean bathrooms, running water, trash cans, great camp host, clean campsite. Incredibly close to town and other attractions. Will definitely be coming back!

We love Mogote and have camped here for many years, however, facilities need updating. Toilets were kept clean, but are in a state of disrepair.

Upper loop doesn't have many trees and is very open. It looks more desert like. The lower loop has all the great trees, many sites have amazing river access. Be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes. There seems to be a swampy area near sites 22 and 23 near the trash cans that produces these pesky biters.
Sam, the camp host does an amazing job at keeping the sites clean and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean and well stocked.
If you run out of supplies, there is a small and friendly mercantile about 5 minutes from the campground for you to stock up on what you need, including your fishing license(cash only).
We did not see much wildlife other than chipmunks, occasionally we saw a deer on the other side of the river and a couple fisherman saw a bear come down to fish on one of the river islands.
