What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is praised for its clean, spacious campsites and well-maintained bathrooms, with a welcoming and attentive camp host, Sam. The beautiful river and serene forest setting enhance the camping experience, making it a favorite for many visitors. However, numerous reviews note a significant mosquito problem and mention that entrance road conditions could be improved, alongside the need for some facilities to be updated.

Lovely campground! We had an amazing weekend. Be aware there is no cell service in the area.

So close and test so far! Just 3 hours from Santa Fe . I had a reservation . The sites are all very nice . I happen to have one on the river side - extra nice. Pit toilets / “super clean” !!! Fire pit and table right near the parking ( level ) . 12 miles from
Antinito. ( if you forgot something or need) Nice local restaurants too.
The perfect place to fish !!!!
I’m back again in August …. Only drag are the darn mosquitos. I will returned armed !

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We have a medium size pop up camper, and our site on the lower loop was sized just right. The lower loop has wooded sites that are very close to the Conejos River. Our kids loved exploring the river banks. Campground was very quiet and neighbors were friendly. Mosquitos were rather plentiful but a combination of campfire and bug spray kept them at bay. We spent a day riding the rails at the nearby Cumbres and Toltec- I highly recommend this if you are a train buff.

This campground is the best - no internet connection is what we were seeking to escape the norms of everyday life. Bathrooms were well maintained and the ground host was the best host we have encountered yet. The only negative was the mosquitoes were really aggressive even with deep woods off spray.

Friendly camp host. Evidently storms broke a lot of trees down so there is a lot of debris that needs to be picked up to reduce the fire hazard.

Toilets are in desperate need of replacement. Host better this year than last at cleaning but condition of facilities makes cleaning an issue. Gravel in sites needs augmenting to reduce mud in inclement weather. Some tree trimming on interior road required to prevent scratch and awning damage to RV’s.
