What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is praised for its clean, spacious campsites and well-maintained bathrooms, with a welcoming and attentive camp host, Sam. The beautiful river and serene forest setting enhance the camping experience, making it a favorite for many visitors. However, numerous reviews note a significant mosquito problem and mention that entrance road conditions could be improved, alongside the need for some facilities to be updated.

River access, on upper loop and overall, is only average at best. Some of the vault toilets were closed, maybe due to the lateness of the camping season. Probably won't stay there again, especially if Aspen Glade just down the road is available. Magote is pretty spartan I'd say!

Great campground. Clean vaults and excellent host. Our second trip here, and we’ll be back, again! Our site was a mere 15 yards from the Cojones River, site was clean and very well set up.

Mogote is a very comfortable National Forest campground. The restrooms are always attended to and the host is a one of a kind. He will advise you as to places to visit and is very informative on anything in the area.

For the third year we had an amazing visit! Perfect weather and the cleanest campground I have ever been to! Jeff is the best host- cleanest bathrooms, friendly and always willing to chat and give suggestions about cool places to go and things to do! We will continue going to Mogote Campgound for years to come!!
