What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is praised for its clean, spacious campsites and well-maintained bathrooms, with a welcoming and attentive camp host, Sam. The beautiful river and serene forest setting enhance the camping experience, making it a favorite for many visitors. However, numerous reviews note a significant mosquito problem and mention that entrance road conditions could be improved, alongside the need for some facilities to be updated.

Beautifully location and scenery. Nicely spaced. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Camp host (Jeff) is very pleasant, personable, and efficient. Good family place. Quiet, minimal generator use. We had to run our generator for app. an hour in the afternoon to charge a battery to run my CPAP machine (no electric hookups), and any other generator use was remote and we didn’t notice it. We plan to stay there again.

We just got back from our trip. Our spot was right next to the river so it was easy to walk over. Unfortunately, there was a fire ban so we didn't get to have a campfire. There are LOTS of mosquitoes so bring repellent. Jeff, our camp host, was great! He gave us good advice on where to go and stopped by everyday to make sure everything was good. Bathrooms were cleaned every morning. We are going to try and come back in the fall.

We had a Sibling Camping Trip We reserved 2 sites next to each other. Had a great time. River is close to go fishing. Restrooms were clean and close to camp sites. We plan on returning this summer.

Great Campground, Great Location, Great Host. We have been going to this location for 7 years in a row. We love the location, quietness (in upper camp area), and the camp hosts. Canejos River fishing is also good is various locations, not always such adjacent to campground. Also love that there is no broadcast TV or radio signal available, which encourages outdoor activities. We will continue to return each year.

The lower part of the area was flooded but we were given another campsite that was equally as nice! The camp host was very friendly and helpful when we needed another site. The restrooms and overall cleanliness of Mogote was spotless! We have stayed there two summers and will continue to book this area. LOVE IT!
