What Guests Are Saying
Ute Campground features friendly and helpful camp hosts, with many reviewers noting the clean restrooms and shaded sites. While heavy rains caused some site accessibility issues and campground conditions were affected, the location near Chimney Rock National Monument and surrounding scenic activities is a significant advantage. Overall, campers appreciated the tranquil atmosphere and expressed a desire to return.

Great little campground. Mature trees with plenty of shade. Spaced out with plenty of privacy.

Heavily wooded, relatively quiet considering its proximity to the highway, literally across the road from Chimney Rock NM. There's a separate tent camp; didn't notice it on the website since there's not a map.

Our reserved site at far end of loop was quiet, with plenty of parking space for two vehicles. A neighboring camper must've let their campfire smolder all night; smoke was everywhere and we had to zip our tent flaps closed to keep from coughing. Rained the second night, causing water and mud to run down a channel through the sloped campsite. The picnic table is listing a bit from erosion, as are several others. Despite all this, the camp host was friendly and generous with information; very concerned about our comfort and enjoyment. We love the National Forest campgrounds, but this one needs some extra attention! Thank you.

We found the camp hosts Tony and Daniel very helpful. They kept the place clean and tidy, even the bathrooms. They were very knowledgeable about the area and other campgrounds. They took very good care of us. We appreciate them.

We wanted to avoid crowded campsites, and this one did the trick. We were a hundred yards from the nearest neighbor campers during our stay, just what we wanted. The host was very helpful, she recommended a nearby day use area by a river, since Ute has no water features. The shade from tall trees was nice. The campsites appear to have 1/4 to 1/3 an acre each, it's nice to have such space. It's not for everyone, but the neighboring camping children found plenty to do in the woods.
