Was told that I could make reservation for one night because it was the end of the season and then everything was first come the next day. When I arrived the campground was full and nothing was available for the next day. All sites full and most with reserved tags. I could NOT reserve for the next day but all these campers could??
I was told that my site was next to my friends which I also booked . It was way down the hill. Not even close. We are senior citizens and took the word of the booking agent.
We did not stay there, we went to Ophir campground where Sheila was SUPER helpful and got us adjacent sites and checked on us daily. She even asked about noise from other sites. She was so helpful.
Shelly Reed at La Vista was also very helpful in directing us to the Ophir campground. Both constantly checked with Laurie who was also very helpful.
The hosts were EXCELLENT but the booking is TERRIBLE.

La Vista is a small campground with the majority of campers respectful of others. The surroundings are beautiful, lots of trees and wildlife. We love the many well-maintained walking roads and trails. There is a different route to take each day. The camp hosts are the BEST, friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping the facilities and grounds clean.

Tent site #3, great location not too close to neighbors and away from RV's so no generator noise! Some shade, great trees, very small hike down a hill to the site. If you're camping with another group grab sites 3 and 4; they are adjacent. Can hear the creek, which is lovely esp at night. Latrines very clean. Campground well maintained; Lake Isabel is very pretty (though lots of weeds). Good local hiking, DON'T MISS Bishop castle up the road!
