So beautiful. The hike up and down the staircase to the lake was a workout. But just beautiful.

Our stay was for five nights. The bathroom was never cleaned once while we were there. When we set up our camp the fire pit was full of ashes and burned wood. We never saw the camp hosts come out of there camper.

Host was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were super clean. Felt welcome and safe, and me and my pup had a very quiet tent site all to ourselves. Soundtrack for the evening was babbling brook.

From Pueblo, go 25 miles south on Interstate 25 to exit 74. Drive west 18 miles on State Highway 165. Turn into the main entrance at Lake Isabel Recreation Area, then turn right into the first campground on the right (about 1.25 miles).
