I've been renting Mingus for years. I'm so happy after being shut for a year the cabin has been cleaned up, new pots and pans, clean stove and a coffee maker now! Could you please put the railing back on the end where it's missing outside? You pull up to park there and it's hard for old people to take their stuff inside. The daybed where I sleep is an absolute taco and folds up and very uncomfortable to sleep on. Bring an air mattress pad or something or sleep upstairs. I've heard noises up there forever and this time footsteps on the stairs. Read the guest book. It's very common and not frightening at all. It's so peaceful this time of year without the ATV's and the forest service horses grazing was such a bonus. They were friendly horses. The trail at the end of the road has gotten chewed up from ATVs on it and very depressing that it's a boulder field now. I will always rent Mingus as it feels like home.

We love this place, it’s so beautiful, peaceful and there’s so much to do in the area from hiking to mountain biking to dirt biking. It’s got beds and a table inside to eat from and then outside has a picnic table and a fire pit and they have a vaulted toilet. The best way to go camping.

The concept of this cabin is nice, a rustic getaway in the woods, but it could definitely use of love and care. The electric heaters were less than adequate to keep it warm, I heard them turn on, but never felt any warmth from them. It could benefit from the installation of a small wood or pellet stove in the main area downstairs. The beds could also use some updates. By the breakdown on the mattresses, I I think they are original to the cabin, and I am pretty sure the sheets that are on them have not been washed in years by the stains that were on them. Even though it said that there was some basic cooking supplies, I brought my own dishes thankfully. The pots/pans as well as the table were covered in rodent droppings. The door in the main level bed area needs a cover on the window. It felt a little strange sleeping in there not being able to cover that window.
