Beautiful site. Two tables and several tent sites. Nice spots for chairs out on the rim for the after climb beverage, in sun or shade. Slightly remote so it’s quiet with nobody walking by since it is at the end of the campground outside of the loop.

This campground was fantastic. I was a bit worried approaching the site from the dirt road, but then we gained a lot of altitude and the view just opened up. So yeah, great view, HUGE campsite...like huge, toilets were really close but not too close if you know what I mean. It was truly an amazing experience. Everyone had a great time, we will definitely be back.

the recreation.gov website is absolutely terrible for modifying and/or cancelling any reservations already made for the Shelf Campgrounds

The road has been improved since I went last year. Very reasonable for a 20' travel trailer. The photos apparently were taken with wide angle lenses and many of the pull ins are perpendicular, so it's otherwise not a great area for trailers despite the descriptions. I found about 3-4 great sites and 3-4 OK sites in the B loop.

It would be quite nice to have electricity, even if 20A :)

The Bank Campground is quite a treasure just 13 miles North of Canon City (30 minute drive). The road is pretty rough getting up to the campground from the main road. The area is known for its rock climbing, but the hiking trails from the "day use" parking lot a quite extensive and beautiful.

The camp host, Dave, was so helpful when we lost our trailer hitch. He found it on the road after we left mid afternoon for an outing to Canon City. He was on the lookout when we returned and delivered it to our site as soon as we arrived. Dave was not only helpful but very friendly and courteous as well. Thanks Dave!

Amazing location to camp overall. One small thing to note about my specific campsite (A1), is that its the only one without a tent bed.

We had no trouble finding a flat spot to pitch our tent, but had we realized we would have simply booked a different one. So make not if you're tent camping!
