What Guests Are Saying
The Bank Campground offers a clean and spacious environment, with beautiful views and well-maintained facilities, including pit toilets stocked with essentials. It's a quieter, slightly remote location ideal for relaxation, with friendly and helpful camp hosts. While access roads can be rough and the reservation system needs improvement, many campers appreciate the overall experience and plan to return.

The Bank Campground is always well-maintained and peaceful. We love staying here every time we go to Shelf Road!

The campground was clean and had fantastic views. There were plenty of hiking trails around to for us to explore. The pit toilets were clean, too.

The views!!! The site was up high on a hill, overlooking the cliffline in the distance. Highly recommend the "B" loop sites since they're more scenic and more private. All the sites on the outer edges of the B loop have good views. The vault toilets were clean and decent. We came here for the climbing, and I'm glad we picked The Bank camping over Sand Gulch camping. Much prettier.

The new B-loop of the Bank is great for me and my travel trailer. Most of the sites have great sun which we all know is nice for those chilly mornings but also for those using solar panels. The bathrooms are always well maintained and not a long walk. Yes, most people who camp here come to rock climb but I'd recommend The Bank to anyone as one of the best winter camping experiences I have had.

The Bank campground is probably the worst actual campsite that I stay at with any regularity. The sites are very close together and the juniper shrub/trees don't offer much in the way of blocking the wind. The sites are generally clean and the cement tables are nice. The Banks gets a 5 star review because it's got great access to climbing at Sand Gulch and Shelf Road. Bring a hard tail or full suspension mountain bike if you stay long enough to need rest days, lots of fun riding in the area. Bring your own water, none available outside Canon City.

Peaceful and serene. Perfect weather during our time here. Spent most of it climbing. Campground was relatively deserted. Facilities clean.

Beautiful location; great for climbers. Definitely recommend a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to get up there. The majority of the sites were fairly small, so plan accordingly. The only two real downsides were a major fly infestation both at the site and in the vault toilets. There is also limited privacy at this campground. Your neighbors are very close to you. There is some tree coverage which is nice.
