Redstone Campground offers a fantastic experience with friendly and knowledgeable hosts, Rob and Karen, who maintain the site meticulously. The bathrooms, including pit toilets, are impressively clean, and the availability of 30 amp power and water at select sites is a pleasant surprise. Visitors can enjoy stunning views, but should be mindful of potential heat and wildlife safety by using provided bear boxes.

This was our first time at RedStone Campground and we loved our stay! Camp Hosts Rob and Karen were fantastic and very knowledgeable of things around the area! They kept the campsite groomed and well taken care of. We will be back!

The hosts in site 20 are so friendly and helpful! The bathrooms are immaculate! Even the pit toilets! And, i dont know how they do it, but the pit toilets don't smell! I never took a shower, but they do have solar heated water showers. They were used, so I assume they were fine. My happy surprise was that there is 30 amp power and water in sites 1-19. Recreation.gov doesn't provide that info (it says 15 amp service, but 30 amp is available as well as water!). Sites can be hot due to lack of shade, so choose wisely. Enjoy the gorgeous views in the campground!

The hosts in this campground are phenomenal. Very friendly, hard working, and prepared. The view in the group campground is stunning cliffs of Maroon Fm. Sandstone. Against a sunrise it's worth your effort to get here. The bear boxes in each site are welcome and should be used at all times. We saw several camp sites with food and trash left everywhere by clueless guests. Just one bear that gets used to food being found in that place means a nuisance bear. Don't get a bear killed because your lazy. Keep this wonderful and unique campground as a possible destination for future campers.

Beyond 5-star experience! This campground was clean, clean, clean!! It’s split into 2 sections, 1 side is primarily tent/van/small RV - which is the side I camped on (tent). The bathrooms on this side are vault toilets (2) with a solar powered shower housed in the same bathroom area. I didn’t use the shower, but both the toilet area and shower area were spotless. And the showers are free - wow! Campsite 32 is large and close to the bathroom without being right on top of it. All the sites are well spaced and there are large trees throughout so you don’t really see, or hear, your neighbors. The Crystal River is a walk across the road and the adorable town of Redstone is a 1 mi walk on a paved access road. While in Redstone, Propaganda Pizza is remarakable - with a deep-dish buttery crust I had dreams about. The camp hosts are friendly and take great pride in the campground. HIGHLY recommend this campground.

Good:
-beautiful scenery
-easy river access - clear water, fun for kids
-good location - nearby hiking (Avalanche Creek) and hot springs (about a mile north); towns of Redstone and Marble fun to explore
-very clean vault toilets (special kind of compostable toilets that are smell-free)
-showers (not available when we were there) and water pumps everywhere
Not-so-good:
-No shade at campsite - very hot in the afternoon
-gravel campsites with no designated tent pads - difficult to stake
-some highway 133 traffic noise
-some campsites are shared; we were at 34 and 35 with our 2 families...great for us but wouldn’t be great to share with strangers
