This was a lovely campground and the hosts were great. The bathrooms were as clean as you can expect, and it was awesome the fee included access to the nearby lake. The only strange thing that happened was there were gunshots throughout the night, but they were definitely not occurring at the campsite itself.

Beautiful area. Minimal road traffic noise the further in you camp. Close to Manitou lake, nice walking trails. Great campground host, clean, quiet and roomy.

The camp host woman needs to go!!!! I had a reservation for 7 days here, booked through rec.gov. The site I booked was terrible so I drove around looking for an “open” spot. She came to me on night one and told me to drive into town and cancel my reservation so I could pay her directly! What! She came by the next day and asked if I obeyed what she told me. I then canceled the remainder of my reservation and she told me I owed her for 2 nights - Intold her I already paid and she then told me to leave the campground early the next morning. There is something very wrong with her. I also noticed a lot of “reserved” sites that no one showed up for and she kept them reserved. Something fishy going on. Please fire her.

We had a great experience at Colorado campground. We stayed for two nights in July. The host was very friendly and greeted us shortly after arrival and provided a pass to be able to access Manitou Lake by car (we walked to the lake but never drove). The toilets were very, very clean although the site was close enough to them that we'd still smell them from time to time depending on the wind (only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5). We had an concern with the neighboring campsite going for a walk while their campfire was still lit (please remember to NEVER walk away from a campfire!). We let the hosts know and they were quick to put it out. There was a little more road noise than I had hoped but nothing too bad.

Great campground. Bathrooms clean and grounds well kept. Barking dogs are an issue and no enforcement.
