What Guests Are Saying

Thunder Ridge Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Jan, who provides excellent service. Campers appreciated the well-maintained restrooms and the peaceful atmosphere, with many enjoying nearby hiking trails and the stunning reservoir views. However, some noted challenges with site sizes for tents, difficult access roads, and occasional strong winds, yet most expressed a desire to return.

3rd year in a row here. Camp host this time around was very friendly and pretty laid back. Hike down to the lake had a few tree obstacles from freshly fallen trees but still a beautiful hike down to lake. Restrooms were kept cleaner and more maintained then most restaurants.

Nice clean campground. We had site 13 and a wonderful view of the lake, although the site next to us seemed a little close. Trail down to the lake was within a couple feet. Trail down to the lake, about 10 min down, then 20 min to get back up. Quite an incline. There were a bunch of downed trees that required lifting kids over to get past. Lake was very nice, clean, and quiet. Camp host came around a lot. Some people like this, but we thought it was more than needed. Wife said bathrooms were the cleanest she had seen at campgrounds.

The camp host at Thunder Ridge was excellent! She was friendly, willing to help, present and available but let you have your space. You can tell she was in charge and the captain of that place. It’s nice to have a trusted go to person who holds people to the rules. A+ for her!!

Great campsites- fairly private, quiet, lots of trees and well maintained. Bathrooms needed some cleaning by the end of the weekend. A 10 minute hike down to the water, fine, but strenuous when adding water sports equip.
