If you're not from the area, make sure you take time to acclimate to the altitude before ascending to the Thunder Ridge Campground. Be prepared for an amazing experience, with wildlife wandering through your camp (don't feed the critters!). Camp host was wonderful; the restrooms were clean; the sites and facilities were in great shape. The night sky at this campground is awesome. Rampart Reservoir is gorgeous, but be prepared for it to be windy in the afternoons! We're definitely coming back -- for a longer stay!

I loved my site #11. It is a pull through with great scenery. The camp host present was doing a great job keeping up with everything. The table & tent pad are some steps down from the pull through driveway.

Very nice spot but no tree coverage until late after noon. So bring sunscreen. The camp host was very nice. They sometimes sell wood for $8 a bundle but definitely bring some as well. Would definitely go back!
