What Guests Are Saying
Aspenglen Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with clean facilities and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the quiet atmosphere, scenic views, and proximity to nature, including a nearby creek and wildlife sightings. However, some visitors noted noise from a nearby event venue, which can disrupt the otherwise peaceful experience. Overall, the campground is highly recommended for its cleanliness, organization, and convenient location.

Site 30 was ok. It was stated as a 24 ft site but it was very tight for our 24 ft trailer. The site was on a steep incline so we had to Jack the front of our trailer way up to make it level. To the rear there is a high drop off so the back of our trailer was hanging over the edge. There are no dump stations near this location. The closest was by bear lake, about a 20 min drive over winding roads. There is zero cell service in the campground, however, a short 5 min walk will get you sort of a signal. There’s a bridge that crosses a river where you can pick up wifi from the visitors center as well if needed. It’s a short walk. The side entrance closest to the campground has allot of construction happening and the road is down to one lane in one spot. This caused a backup that took us 45 min to go just a few miles to enter the park. Not sure when that will be done. The restroom facility was clean and maintained.

My brother and I agreed that this was our favorite spot to camp at for the few days we were in the park!

The campground was very pretty and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We loved our site by the river in Loop A, and the staff were really friendly too. Highly recommend.

We had Loop A, Site D. If you are willing to carry your stuff in, the walk-in sites are by far the nicest in the campground, and all have beautiful views. A and B have no shade/hammock trees. C, D and E are all a longer walk (C is closest, then D, then E) but have beautiful private settings close to the river with both sun/shade. The river makes great white noise at night - loud at sites C, D and E, and you can hear it at sites A and B but not as loud. The banks are steep, so it isn't easy to actually go down to the river itself. All sites in this campground have large tent pads, a fire ring with a grate and a picnic table that cannot be moved (this was annoying in our site, as for some reason they had put the fire ring right next to the picnic table. The five walk-in sites have 3 shared bear boxes by the assigned parking spots, then each has its own bear box at the site. Site D also had an additional older huge bear box, which was super helpful, as this campground advises that you not leave any food in your car (when we checked in, they showed us pics of a car at that campground that had been broken into by a bear). The bathrooms must have been recently redone, as they were extremely clean/nice; they have flush toilets but no showers. There is a sink at the bathroom building for doing a final rinse on your dishes, and the water spigot for filling your water is by the parking. Most evenings there is someone selling firewood, bags of ice and ice cream treats for two hours. A couple evenings there were elk walking through the trail to the campsites. The location of this campground close to the Fall River entrance is convenient for running into Estes Park for groceries/phone service; just beware the backups (we arrived after 3 on a Sunday and probably had to wait for close to an hour to get in - it wasn't like that the rest of the week).
