I visited the park Labor Day weekend and it was busy, however if you wanted your own space just go onto the less popular trails.
I loved the campsite, well kept. So if the loops have more trees / shade than others. Colorado is just beautiful!

The Rocky Mountain National Park experience was unforgettable. The park rangers were clear and helpful, my partner and I were impromptu camping- so the rangers had every right to be annoyed with our lack of planning- however they were simply delighted to share nature and fill last minute vacancies on their campsites. We ended up camping three nights and got 30 miles of stunning hiking under our belts on the well-maintained trails. Thank you for the wonderful stay, we will be back!

Lovely location, peaceful campsite with quick access to busses to take you to the main trailheads. Quick and easy to purchase firewood as well.

Beautiful campground! Flush toilets, ice cream sold by campground. Definitely the best amenities of any campground I've stayed at.

Tent is half shaded, which is enough. Views are amazing. 106 is a bit nearby but enough away. Picnic seating location and camp fire site is at amazing location. They’re private and overlooking mountains! We loved it!

Gorgeous. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. Free shuttle to hikes was worth all of it.

Very peaceful and beautiful, love the camping experience. Only complaint is the dump station is in an awkward spot. It’s accessible but challenging if you are in the C or D loop!

Glacier Basin is perfectly located inside the park. It’s close to Estes Park and all the trailheads we used. Our campsite was well-maintained and had easy access to a bathroom, fire pit, and bear-resistant food storage. The staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend using the free shuttle in the morning hours because the parking lots really do fill up right away, but you will probably find spots later in the day.
