This was our first time staying at Glacier Basin and I was very pleased. For me, the best feature was that the campsites are large and not stacked right on top of each other. The restrooms were very clean. Another great feature is that the layout of the campground makes it very easy to let the kids take off on their bikes and I didn't have to worry about them getting turned around. It was nice not needing a timed reservation for the Bear Lake road area since access to that area is included as part of the camping reservation. Finally, I would mention that the Google Earth image (at the time of this posting) is several years old and is not an accurate depiction of the campground in 2024. Loops C and D are not as treeless as the satellite image suggests. The trees planted after the 2009 the removal of trees killed by Bark Beetles are now 8-10 ft tall. Not tall enough for shade but better than no trees at all. I would absolutely stay there again.

Best campground location at RMNP, situated on the Bear Lake Corridor with great access to many excellent hikes and lakes. The campground itself is well maintained and restrooms clean. Firewood is available daily in the late afternoon.

B044 Was a decent campsite. The sites are very close together. The bathroom for this area was decently clean. The fire pit had been cleaned out. It would be helpful if each site had a bear box. That was really the only issue.

The campground and facilities were very good. There's a "community share" box by the ranger station(?) in case you forgot something small like a toothbrush or coffee filters. We didn't need anything but it nice people are willing to share rather than blindly throw out extra supplies. However there were a few miscommunications or misunderstandings from staff. We took the Bustang to the park and I know we're not the first people in history to do this. So a few times the staff asked us where our car was and it took a little too much convincing to explain that we did not have one. When we went (June 2024) Moraine campground was closed for reservations. We got a few different answers about whether the park shuttle could stop at/near that other campground. The bus drivers are (naturally) more helpful with this so ask them before committing to the shuttle ride.

We loved this site. Spacious and more privacy than shown in the photos on here. Water access is right in front of you, and you’re very close to (very clean) bathrooms without being too close. And the mountain views blew our minds!
