What Guests Are Saying
Saddlehorn Campground offers breathtaking views and well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms and attentive camp hosts. While some sites are close together and certain spots may not be ideal for tents, many campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, especially in the tent-only sections. The campground is conveniently located near hiking and mountain biking trails, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts.

Our site in Saddlehorn campground (loop B, site 43), and it appeared most (if not all) sites in loops A and B, did not have a dedicated location for a tent (i.e. a "tent pad"). We had to find the best spot considering trees, slope of the ground and drainage of rainfall runoff, distance from the parking spot, location if the picnic table (which was too far from the parking spot making the site more of what normally is termed a walk-in site), ect., and make-do. The website for Saddlehorn campground should advise people that loops A and B do not have dedicated tent pads and that users will need to locate tents as best they can.

This campground is amazing. Clean, well-maintained and safe. The toilet facilities are super clean and modern. The view from the campsite is gorgeous and there are many hiking trails nearby. If you have RV, you are unlikely to have much privacy where you park, but the campsite is private and spacious. The camp hosts are also very friendly and professional.

We stayed in site 39. This is a very larger site over looking Fruita. Aside from there not being a larger amount of shade, we thought we had the best site due to the view.
There is a larger ant nest where people had previously pitched a tent but there is some flat space under small trees where the tent can go.

Beautiful views across the city and to the mountains beyond. Sites are well spaced out. Unlike way too many campgrounds they actually have full recycling facilities.

Too hot when weather in Fruita or Grand Junction is hot! There is little relief from heat at the few thousands of feet above the valley this campground is in. Very spartan. Little or no shade at most spots. The landscape is beautiful and Rim Rock Drive is spectacular!
