Saddlehorn Campground offers breathtaking views and well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms and attentive camp hosts. While some sites are close together and certain spots may not be ideal for tents, many campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, especially in the tent-only sections. As tent campers, we were lucky enough to find a nice site in Loop C, which is much prettier, more spacious and quieter than Loops A or B.
As for exploring CO National Monument, while the top views along Rim Rock Drive are wonderful, we particularly enjoyed the hikes down into the canyons, especially Ute Canyon from the Rim Rock Drive trailhead, and Independence Monument from the lower trailhead off Hwy 340.

The only reservable ’ADA’ site is too steep for a wheelchair user.

Nice area, well maintained
Sadly we only ended up having a picnic lunch at our site. We left the Monument to explore else where and didn't get back three bottom till after dark and didn't want to drive back up in the dark. Next time w we'll plan better.

I love this campground. I’ve stayed here several times and my favorite spots are the ones along the outside so I can walk down and look over the canyons. The sites aren’t super crammed together so everyone has a little bit of space to spread out.

Clean bathrooms, beautiful views. We didn't get to stay long but it was great. Our site was level but you just pull off the road to camp in many sites. (On the reservation it says parallel) which means your head is close to the road but it was an easy park for the camper.
