What Guests Are Saying
Mogote is highly praised for its clean and spacious campsites, friendly and attentive camp host Sam, and its beautiful natural setting near a river. Many campers enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and well-maintained facilities, including impressively clean bathrooms. However, some reviews noted issues with mosquitoes, particularly in areas near standing water, and suggested that the road conditions and overall infrastructure could use improvement.

First off, camp host was amazing, really liked him. That being said, not to fond of the upper Mogote campground, not much shade in #19 and pretty dusty. The space to the south was really close, could hear most of their conversations and inappropriate music, (I had my grandkids with me). It was pretty warm this low which could be a + or - dependent upon your tastes. I like the cooler temps of upper elevation. We walked around the lower section of the campground, (yes separated by maybe an eighth of a mile), it seemed pretty nice with more shade and river access. All in all, it was ok, clean bathrooms, water refill stations, and much closer to civilization if you're looking for that.

Mogote was beautiful! As I was walking around, I noticed that I preferred the campsites on the other side much more to mine, so I definitely recommend looking at the map before booking. It was nice and private, but you could for sure see other sites. The river was beautiful, but a little to fast to swim in for my taste (and I was a competitive swimmer so take that as you may haha). AMAZING wildlife viewing. We lost service about 3 miles from the site, which made leaving and navigating home a little tricky, but that’s kind of what you expect right?
Bottom line, I would love to return and I would recommend to a friend.

The campsites were too close together, at least in the upper loop. The lower loop had more trees for privacy. The camp host was very nice.
