What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, clean restrooms, and a friendly camp host, making it a pleasant experience for many visitors. The proximity to a lovely lake and various outdoor activities enhances its appeal, despite some issues with water availability and site reservation communication. While there are occasional complaints about noise and host interactions, the overall ambiance and cleanliness contribute to a positive camping experience.

Camp host was very friendly! Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. There was a trash can in the bathrooms-yes!!! Good sites with lots of shade. The mosquitoes were a bit heavy so bring spray or plan on wearing long sleeves and pants. Lots of good fishing by Boustead Tunnel.

Turquoise Lake needs signage. It can be very confusing and you can waste a lot of time getting to your campground.

Family-friendly, quick lake access to lake, fun beginner mtn bike loop from campground (~1 mi: Turquoise Lake Nature Trail). Roomy sites with mature trees. Watch out for mosquitos and unattended smoky campfire remains (camp hosts were unconcerned).

hiking , biking and fishing available. Restrooms are clean and easy to get to. firewood is not handy to get to so (unless you want to
pay for it) bring your own and make sure it isn't over the regulated length.

Our camp host was great to work with and the site was amazing! I love having a little bit of room between us and the next site so we can feel a bit of nature around us instead of like we're in a subdivision with trees. The entire area around Turquoise Lake is beautiful and the campgrounds are just an extension of that.

Turquoise Lake is one of my family’s favorite places! We absolutely love the lake, the trails, the scenery and the mountain air! The trails are great for hiking, running and biking! Something for all of us. We love that there aren’t a lot of power boats on the lake, makes SUP very nice! And, I have to mention, Trudy! The camp host at Silverdollar last summer was so sweet! We hope she comes back in 2020!

The campground and toilets are clean and well maintained. The area is absolutely beautiful, We just love Turquoise Lake! And it's so close to Leadville, we can go into town for a day and shop the antique stores. The camp host was the best! We had purchased 2 sites for our extended family, but some of us couldn't camp that weekend. I told the host and she offered our second site to a family from Texas who happened to drive through that weekend. Made us feel good that the beautiful space was utilized and we made new friends to boot.
