Great, large parking spots, most are level. Fishing, hiking, biking and paddle board. Great hosts.

Baby Doe is a great spot on Turquoise Lake in Leadville. Fishing was slow but what can we expect in this epic drought condition. The hosts Darrrell and Dana are wonderful and keep the place fully supplied and spotless!

Nice clean campground. Darryl and Dana were excellent, friendly camp hosts, Bathrooms were spotless. Fishing was good, sad the lake is so low. We were so glad to be able to have a campfire.

We went camping to Baby Doe during the week after Labor Day weekend. They aren’t normally open the but because of the fire during the summer they stayed open a couple weeks longer. The bathrooms were clean, thee camp hosts were very nice. Campground was the quietest I have ever seen it. We have AT&T cell service and it worked great.

Pretty cool spot I go there usually twice a year. Nice slice of heaven. Especially on weekdays when there aren’t any screaming kids. With no water or dump station the price is a little painful.

Very clean bathrooms. Smelled good. The hosts go above & beyond using airfresheners which we appreciated. Sites were clean & well maintained. Great views of the lake from many sites.

This is the most beautiful place that's tucked in the mountains of Leadville. Sat on the shore and fished while watching the most beautiful sunset. Great lake to paddleboard on. Excellent bike and hiking trails along the lake. The campground is very clean and the camp hosts are so nice and friendly. Vault bathrooms are very clean also. Will be going back next year for sure.

Getting There
From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 about 3.5 mi, turn right on County Road 9C and follow signs to Baby Doe Campground.
Highway access
The nearest major road is US Highway 24, which is approximately 10 miles east of Baby Doe Campground.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.

- To prevent the spread of pests, obtain firewood locally and burn it on-site.
- Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
