Sites were well spaced. We stayed in site 13. Everything was well kept and the bathrooms were in really good shape for vault toilets. Camp host was great.

Love this campground...one of our favorites! The camp hosts were very personable and the facilities well maintained. Lots of people enjoying Turqoise lake and nearby hiking trails. So many cyclists preparing for the Leadville 100 bike even. Leadville was hopping with tourists and cycling enthusiasts! Looking forward to staying here next year!

I have been camping at recreation.gov sites for many years. The campground hosts were amazing! They were friendly and hard workers. They raked and cleaned each campsite. I am hoping the campsites on the lake will finally have water next year.

Site 26. Nicely wooded campsites, neighbors are visible, but not too close. Clean sites and facilities. Many of the campsites have very small tent pads and terrain is not very level, so be prepared. Camp host was awesome, friendly, and attentive. Hosts were politely enforcing of the quiet hours to some neighbors who were a bit loud. Really appreciated that.
Fantastic location, walkable to Turquoise lake for easy shoreline fishing.

Site 11 was beautiful. The hosts had raked the gravel on the pad so it was nice and smooth. The restrooms were clean and well taken care of & the hosts we present for questions and help!

From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 about 3.5 mi, turn right on County Road 9C and follow signs to Baby Doe Campground.
Highway access
The nearest major road is US Highway 24, which is approximately 10 miles east of Baby Doe Campground.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.

- To prevent the spread of pests, obtain firewood locally and burn it on-site.
- Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
