What Guests Are Saying

Burning Bear Campground is a beautiful, well-maintained, and quiet spot, ideal for a relaxing getaway. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities, friendly camp hosts, and proximity to hiking trails, though water availability is an issue due to pump failures. While some campsites can be tight, many guests enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and plan to return for future visits.

Beautiful quiet campground. The site spacing was very good. Bathrooms were clean. The host came by a couple times a day. Couple notes. No tent pads at the site or the other we checked. Made it hard to find a flat spot to set up a tent. Also, the water had a brownish tint to it. It may have been fine but we choose to drive to town and buy water jugs.

Loved the environment. Best sunset and the bathrooms were very clean and didn't smell at all!

beautiful spot convenient to trails, water, Grant and Georgetown. Small campground with no on site host, though they came through every morning and were friendly and helpful. Extremely quiet, clean toilet only bathroom. Only real negative is you need to take your garbage out. No bearboxes, no garbage until town, and nowhere you're 'supposed' to throw stuff away. I asked a local business and they were nice enough to let me throw a bag in the dumpster.

Great campsite right off Guanella Pass. Bathrooms were kept clean and its proximity to the trailhead can't be beat. The only downside is that the camp host is not on site, so I missed him when he came by on one of the days to buy firewood.
