Kenosha Pass Campground

Arrived at our site in the afternoon and hiked out about 1.5 miles on the beautiful CO Trail before coming back for dinner and a light rain. Monday night at Kenosha campground was quiet and mostly empty. On Tuesday morning, we crossed 285 and hiked another 1.5 miles out, then back through lovely aspen groves and views down into South Park. Camp sites are spacious, outhouses were clean and camping in the trees is a delight.

There were a bunch of backpackers in the woods immediately behind our campsite that we didn't expect, which meant less privacy that we had anticipated. We also had issues with how LOUD a very large group of 20 somethings were across the campground. Otherwise this was a nice campground. Slight slope on most of the sites, but also decent shade and sites were not excessively small or close together. Road noise for sites 3-6 was noticeable during the day.

Such a beautiful campsite! And the host was so nice and welcoming.

Stayed here while thru hiking the CT - the camp host, Smurf, was so kind and runs a clean campground with potable water and clean pit toilets. Beware of the overly curious chipmunks who will try to steal your dinner!

Horrible road noise at night so you need a hard sided rv. Privy pit was almost full. Any sites in vicinity of privy makes you gag from sewer odor. It takes two people to pump water. Five stars though for camp host supporting hikers!

We love Kenosha. The camp hosts were great. The area lacks care. The lots are not taken care of. They need to be leveled. The trees have over grown the area. We used to be able to take our camper in and have no problem going into the spots that the site says we can fit in. Now you go in and they are small cause of over growth and rutty. Lovely place just needs TLC.

Nice campground, but close to the highway so noise is noticeable much of the time. Very nice sites overall, helpful camp host. Lots of backpackers and bikepackers off the nearby Colorado Trail makes for a pleasant atmosphere. We were there for a few weeknights in late June and the place was not close to full. Great access to numerous hiking opportunities. Very convenient, and a good quick camping getaway for Denverites. Lots of flat spots for RVs.

Camp host, Dan (Smurf) was super sweet and on top of everything! You can tell how much he cares, and can see him patrolling around every now and again. Plenty of folks will stay at his camp just to chat and bond. Many of the sites of very gracious in size. I’ve camped a lot and I can’t say the camp host for many of places I stayed even bothered to say hello. My partner and I hiked 6 miles to the beaver ponds picnic area on the Colorado trail and back. Plenty of good line for hammocks. Aspen trees galore and a wide variety of terrain. If you run out of ice, Jefferson Corner Store has great burritos and fudge. As far as phone service? You probably won’t have it. I got a few texts to go through. I absolutely will be returning.
